Debra Davis is a singer/songwriter, recording artist and educator. Songs from Debra’s 3 albums—”Complete,” “Angels in the Attic” and “Uninvited Guests”—made the Top 20 on the Adult Contemporary and Americana charts, and her songs have been featured on numerous TV shows and films, including “Dawson’s Creek”, “Any Day Now”, “Bold & the Beautiful”, “The Smokers” (Quincy Jones producer), “Grapevine”, “Joan of Arcadia”, “Dangerous Proposition”, and more.
Debra has written for and produced numerous artists, including Peyton List (of Disney Channel’s “Jesse” and “Bunk’d”), Malibu Storm (Rounder Records), and Sony Wonder’s “Twist of Fate”, and has written and writes for projects with Universal, Sony and Windswept, including co-writes with songwriter/producers like Mike Green (Maroon 5), Kevin Fisher (Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans), Mark Cross (Randy Newman, Jennifer Warnes), and Colton Ford / Spin Sista.
Debra has toured nationwide playing festivals and venues like Summerfest, PRIDE, the Bluebird in Nashville, Billboard Live, The Troubadour, House of Blues, the Coach House; ASCAP’s “Quiet on the Set”, NSAI, and Billy Block’s Western Beat, and as a featured performer on numerous radio on-airs and morning TV shows. She’s opened for such artists as Christopher Cross, Edwin McCain, and Collective Soul.
She wrote all the songs for a popular Scholastic book series, “Avalon: Web of Magic” for Sony Wonder publishing, a project that is now in the works to be a feature film. Debra and her music were featured on the PBS documentary “Real Artists Working” and on the TNN special “Angel Encounters”, which explored the stories behind her songs.
Debra has been a vocal arranger for various groups including High Society vocal jazz quartet, a cappella groups on the Queen Mary, and the VW Voices Pop youth chorus. She studied at Cal State Northridge, Dick Grove School of Music in Hollywood, UCLA Extension, Pasadena City College and Fullerton College, and was a features writer for the LA Times, and features editor and music columnist for the Pasadena Weekly and Gig Magazine.
