Participate in one, two or three weeks of summer programming with emphases in bass, guitar, drum, piano, vocal or jazz performance, rap & hip-hop, songwriting, music production, composing for visual media or music entrepreneurship. Summer at LACM is offered to all skill levels and includes master classes, private lessons, recitals and large ensembles taught by LACM faculty and top music industry members.

Week 1: Music Performance
Monday, June 23 – Friday, June 27, 2025
This week-long program is led by our award-winning faculty members and offers focuses in vocal, drum, bass, guitar, and piano performance. During this session you’ll dive deep into technique for your selected instrument technique and collaborate with other talented artists, working in bands to prepare for a live performance and a recording session in our world-class studio. You’ll learn from various guests in A&R workshops and industry panels. This program includes a private lesson in your primary instrument, as well as daily technique and performance workshops.
Week 1: Music Production
Monday, June 23 – Friday, June 27, 2025
During this week-long program, you’ll focus on key production topics such as the basics of ProTools, drum production, vocal production, mixing and more. Expand your production toolkit and work in our fully equipped-studios and production lab with guidance from our seasoned faculty members. You’ll learn from various guests in A&R workshops and industry panels. Collaborate or work solo to create a track to share at the end of the session.
Week 1: Bandwidth: Jazz & the Journey

Bandwidth is a week-long collaboration featuring Bryan Lipps (Michael Bublé, Kurt Elling, John Mayer) and the Los Angeles College of Music. Along with playing with the pros in ensembles, private lessons, performance and recording opportunities, you’ll learn about the business and music technology behind creating a successful career path.
Week 2: Songwriting
Sunday, June 29 – Thursday, July 3, 2025
Writing music is a chance to tell your story. During this week-long session, you’ll focus on techniques in melody and lyric writing to assist with your storytelling. You’ll collaborate with other talented songwriters to write new music during the week and work towards the final recording session and live performance. You’ll work closely with our faculty members and learn from guest panelists to hone your craft and grow as a writer.
Week 2: Advanced Music Production
Sunday, June 29 – Thursday, July 3, 2025
The Advanced Music Production session is recommended for students that have already attended the Week 1 Music Production program or for students that have experience working in ProTools. During this week you’ll work to expand your knowledge of ProTools, advanced recording techniques, mixing, sampling and MIDI production. You’ll have the chance to learn from our experienced production staff and hear from industry guests during masterclasses. Expand your knowledge and work with songwriters to help take songs from concept to final track.
Week 2: Rap & Hip-Hop: Change the World
Sunday, June 29 – Thursday, July 3, 2025
The Rap & Hip-Hop: Change the World program partners with the Subversive Foundation to provide a unique program focused on artist development, lyrics writing, beat-making, and other skills. You work with our faculty and guest industry advisors as they share their knowledge of the music industry. This week-long session focuses on creating music with a message and is tailored towards students that want to make a difference with their music. Full scholarships are offered to applicants with financial need. All tracks must contain lyrics with a positive message.
Week 3: Music Entrepreneurship

The Music Entrepreneurship program is focused on understanding the music industry and finding your path as an entrepreneur. Learn from our faculty and industry guests about topics such as artist management, marketing, licensing & publishing, and more. Learn how to make your career goals a reality.
Week 3: Composing for Visual Media
Monday, July 7 – Friday, July 11, 2025
This week-long session is all about composing to picture. Work on film, TV, and video game scoring. With guidance from our experience faculty members, you’ll work to score an original piece during this session.
Week 3: Pro Artist Study

The Week 3 Pro Artist program is designed to help unleash the potential of your music career. You will have the opportunity for yourself, or your band to meet with industry professionals to develop your artistry through a week-long project including recording one to two original songs in our recording studio and recording a performance style music video to one of your songs. You will also leave with a logo or branding package to develop your aesthetic.

Room & Board
Summer arranged housing includes a hotel room, an onsite nurse, resident advisers, hotel security personnel and 3 meals a day. Students attending more than one week will need to provide some meals on weekends. Roommate selection upon request – not guaranteed.

Students can purchase an airport shuttle to and from LAX International Airport. LACM only offers a round trip shuttle. LACM will transport students to LAX on the Sunday before & Saturday after the program. LACM charge is $80 round trip or $40 one way.
