Ben Tolliday is an Australian sound engineer based in Los Angeles. A string player for over 30 years, he draws inspiration from his classical training in all his production. Ben has worked on recordings in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand with artists as diverse as London Symphony Orchestra, Hozier, Lord Huron and Alanis Morissette. He’s worked in the studio with Alan Meyerson (Inception, Dark Knight Trilogy), Rob Kirwan (PJ Harvey, U2), Michael Farrow (Carol, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri), and Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Madonna) and toured with Smashing Pumpkins. He was an engineer on Lord Huron’s critically-acclaimed records, Vide Noir, Lonesome Dreams, and Strange Trails, including the RIAA Platinum-certified single ‘The Night We Met’, and Gold-certified single ‘Ends of the Earth’. He also engineered on Hozier’s sophomore album, Wasteland, Baby, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album charts in the US. Ben was score mixing engineer for Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict (official selection at Tribeca, Telluride & Art Basel) and was the score recording engineer for Killing Ground (official selection at Sundance). As part of his Churchill Fellowship, Ben was at Abbey Road Studios in London with Mark Mothersbaugh for Thor: Ragnarok, with Henry Jackman at the Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage in Los Angeles for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and with Carter Burwell at Sear Sound in New York for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
