LA based composer, songwriter, vocalist, and performing artist Angela Sheik creates soulful alt pop, orchestral pop hybrid, and 1940s-influenced jazz pop (Watch her NPR-featured performance here). Her custom music is heard in match.com, Toyota, and ADIDAS ads as well as a long list of film / TV projects. Her work for the ADIDAS ‘Support Is Everything’ campaign was nominated for an HMMA Award in 2022. Influences include Sevdaliza, Labrinth (Euphoria score), Imogen Heap, Regina Spektor, Massive Attack, Bjork, and The Andrews Sisters.
Formerly a Philadelphia orchestra teacher, Angela is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, conductor, orchestrator, and arranger. A classically trained flutist, pianist, and vocalist also dabbling in theremin and autoharp, she combines it all together into lush soundscapes and pop songs using her internationally recognized loop pedal skills. She was titled BOSS USA National Loop Champion early in her solo career. Active Recording Academy and Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) voting member, community leader for the Production Music Association, the Guild of Music Supervisors, and the Association of Music Producers, she is regularly requested to speak on and moderate industry panels.
