Angel M. Baker, Esq. is a writer and English Instructor in Los Angeles. She teaches literary theory, critical thinking, research and writing, and Political Science. Her goal is to help students better express themselves on the page as well as in their daily lives. She’s been a regular contributing writer in magazines in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles covering music, art, film, and photography. Her first short story, “A Summer Story,” was published Jelly Bucket. She was a Poet of the Month for MoonTide Press and received the Academy of American Poets Prize in 2019 for her poem, “Vista, California.” She has published poems in The Northridge Review and New Plains Review. Her critical analysis of modernist techniques in Yonnondio and Johnny Got His Gun was published in Articulate, the Associate Graduate Students in English Journal, in 2021. She is a licensed California attorney, philanthropist, animal advocate, and avid reader.
