She has sung duets with Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bolton, and Josh Groban, and recorded the original demos for Whitney Houston’s classics, including I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing, and I Look to You.
Her extensive career includes working with musical greats such as Carole Bayer Sager, Walter Afanasieff, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Burt Bacharach, Carole King, James Ingram, Steve Tyrell, Patti LaBelle, and Barbra Streisand.
Beyond music, Nita is a celebrated actress, earning accolades like the NAACP Best Supporting Actress award and the Artivist Award for her advocacy in children’s literacy. She is also a former Miss Louisiana, a Star Search Hall of Fame Grand Champion, and the author of two award-winning books.
