Upon completion of the Bachelor of Music program in Keyboard Performance, students will:
Combining a knowledge of contemporary styles and leadership skills with a solid foundation of music theory and technique. Arranging and composing, improvising, rehearsing and directing a band, sight-reading Learn integrative, real-time approach in weekly forums, culminating in a personal project and final recital. LACM prepares you for the music industry and what goes beyond school. Learn Music Technology, Music Business and Marketing Skills, essential to the development of today’s entrepreneurial artists.
KEYBOARD PERFORMANCE AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Video # 1 – Prepared Songs (Required)
Perform two (2) songs of your choice demonstrating live performance
skills and genre versatility. Select separate genres for your videos (i.e.
Rock, Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Blues, Funk, etc.).
Video # 2 – Scales (Required)
Play the following scales in 16th notes (quarter note = 84 BPM)
1. Play the E major scale in contrary motion, two octaves out and in.
2. Play the Db major scale in parallel motion with both hands
simultaneously, two octaves up and down.
3. Play the G harmonic minor scale with both hands simultaneously, two
octaves up and down

1. READING AND REPERTOIRE
a. Perform the two (2) examples below:
i. Excerpt from John Legend’s “PDA” – Groove/comp in the
verse section – Page 2
ii. Bach’s “Little Prelude” – BWV 939 – Page 3
1. ADDITIONAL VIDEO
a. Submit a video showcasing additional musical skills of your
choice, an original composition, performing a song in a different
genre, or explaining your interest in LACM’s Keyboard
Performance program and what you hope to contribute.
